The Ran Garjana is a group that started forming shortly before the muck opens. They are a clan of tigers led by Rakta who plan to gain control over the entire rainforest; for some this is because of the opportunity to gain power, while others simply enjoy the chaos. While the opening TP will likely involve everyone, the Ran Garjana will find themselves especially involved - for better or for worse.
If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to post here.

As I've mentioned; I'm very interested in playing a tiger cub (Tsuun, male) who is being raised in the ways of an evil tiger clan.
Tsuun would, essentially, be a young male cub almost like Kovu is in the lion king; generally not BORN evil, but being raised to believe that his mother's (or Elders) ways are the right ways and everything else is wrong.
I'm very interested in the idea of this clan indeed; I just have a few questions about how they go about things with their attempts to take over the forest and stuff; their methods, their leaders, things like that. -.n

I don't have very many specific answers for you because some of the details of the group have to do with the TP and they're sekret, while others I don't know because Rakta is busy programming and I don't want to interrupt him too much. In fact, that's why I'm posting about it for him.
But what I can say is that Rakta is the leader and their methods tend to vary because the members of the clan will have different reasons for being there and they haven't been together for very long. Sufficeth to say they won't shy away from being very, very evil - some in the clan are likely to be the type that like to drown puppies for no apparent reason, while others wouldn't do that but would turn a blind eye on it. So there will be plenty of room for characters of varying degrees of evilness.

Are the Ran Garjana and the Sakht Nakh going to be connected in any way? I know the Sakht Nakh were destroyed, but it seems a little redundant to have two separate yet virtually identical groups in the game's lore so early on. Just a thought. :3

The Sakht Nakh doesn't exist anymore. I'm not involved in the creation of Ran Garjana, but would make sense to me it could be like the fall of the German Empire in 1918 leading to the rise of the Reich just a decade or so later. Would make sense that some few cubs that managed to survive (the do-Rakanaah would have killed those they could find) might be part of it, but it'll be up to individual players and Rakta what the foundations of the Ran Garjana are.
I don't see the redundancy. The Sakht Nakh no longer exist, they're just backstory. That's like saying a 2010 car is redundant because there was a similar one in 2009.

I don't really see the redundancy either. They may look similar on paper but (though I may be going out on a limb here because I never saw the group the Sakht Nakh are based on so I don't know exactly what they were like) I'm absolutely positive that this group will have a completely different feel to it. The only similarity between the two is likely to be that they're both evil. The two groups have different goals, different origins, a different structure, and most importantly different people involved in the running of it. And once the muck gets going I'm sure that the Sakht Nakh will fade almost entirely into the background except a reference here and there by a few people with it in their backstory. The Ran Garjana, on the other hand, is new.

Oh I see the similarity, but not redundancy since they aren't concurrent. There is certainly an option for current Ran Garjana clan members to have been cubs in Sakht Nakh when it was destroyed but somehow taken to safety, as I think seeing that would be powerful motivation to seek their revenge.
I guess a rough comparison is the German Empire, destroyed in 1918, versus the Third Reich, destroyed in 1945.

The idea of an evilish .o0{Evil? I'm not evil! I just deserve everything, now serve my whims!} tigress is appealing. Got to have something to balance my goody-four-hooves. I will ponder on that character - also, she could pretty easily have cubs or adolescent kids, so if anyone's looking for family, lemme know.

I'll be making an evil tigress alt, and I expect that she'll try to join this clan though maybe mostly be solitary. Her backstory so far is that she's the daughter of the previous Raja of the super evil clan that's already been destroyed, and Badajiva. She's kind of insane evil. But woo. :]

Just to let you know, I've decided to name the evil destroyed clan Sakht Nakh, the evil Raja was Vijayi. The clan Mahaaraani (empress, basically the leader of Vijayi's tigress harem and the mother of the 'chosen heir') was named Thataka; Thataka would sort of be an aunt to Badajiva's cubs. Good to have names for things!

Alrighty! Then with all the correct names; My tigress Dalaja - daughter of Badajiva and Vijayi of the Sakht Nakh clan, might try to join the Ran Garjana, maybe. I dunno yet. And just because she's evil and bitter I don't think she would treat Thataka like an aunt. Probably more like competition for her mother. She probably wouldn't like her very much.
