Another character I have thought about resurrecting from India MUCK was my wolf, Gyarahabala. On India MUCK, Gyarahabala was the beta (second-in-command male) of the wolf pack who helped stand with the dholes, lions and other resisters to defeat the evil, deadly threat of The Clan (see: Badajiva) menacing to crush them under their claws and in their jaws.
In fact, the wolves had been among the early victims of the tiger raja's thirst for blood; while the alphas were away hunting along with most of the pack, Gyarahabala had pupsitting duties over the alphas' very first litter of pups. Gyarahabala had actually vied for alpha himself, and was sporting-competitive with the alpha male, both of them attracted to the shewolf who became alpha female, but in the end was edged out. Anyway, while pup-sitting, the tiger who would later form his evil clan attacked, savagely slaughtering the pups. Gyarahabala found himself as the lone adult to fend off a tiger more than ten times his size and strength.
It was very one-sided, but Gyarahabala would not be deterred and did what he could against the raging, blood-thirsty tiger. He was slashed and thrown like a ragdoll in the fight, but would not give up and the tiger completely bit off one of his forelegs in the fight and threw him hard into a boulder, knocking him out -- and out of the fight.
It was only then that the alphas and their hunting party returned, just in time to deter the tiger. All the pups but one had been slain, and Gyarahabala in his futile attempt to fight the tiger was nearly killed himself. When he came to and realized he was crippled, in horrible anguish from watching and having been unable to save all of the pups, his intense physical pain and the dooming realization he would be nothing but a burden to his pack, he pleaded with his alpha to release him from life with a merciful death.
The alpha refused, realizing amid the terrible grief of his own dead pups suddenly how precious this former competitor was to him. Whatever sacrifices he had to make to save the beta, he would make them. He spent a great deal of time with the Beta, helping him recover and re-learn how to walk on three legs. Eventually, the Beta became so adept from pushing himself so hard, he was in some ways better and stronger on three legs than he had been on four. He became very loyal to his alphas, never again challenging to become alpha himself. His wounds scarred over and he became a very tough and determined warrior.
Like Badajiva, he would be quite old now and a relic of that time and the war against the evil tiger clan ... probably one of the last survivors among the wolves who were around to fight The Clan, unless someone else cares to fill in the old alphas roles -- but he, and they, would be retired. I think he would be something of a celebrated hero to not only the wolf pack, but the dholes and lions as well as one of the finest warriors they had ever known, and -- from keeping up the fight after facing such devastation -- as probably one of the strongest inspirations to work together in the tough fight. Even lions paled in comparison to the tigers' titanic brute strength, and fighting against them seemed impossible and futile, but Gyarahabala's example helped unite the "davids" against the titan clan of the "goliath" tigers.
