Since I've been running around the internet looking for inspiration, I've gathered a collection of various links and info to help me come up with ideas and I thought that I'd share. Feel free to reply with any stuff you find that ought to be shared!

A quote from my world religions book I found interesting:
The religions of south Asia-Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism-all have their origins in India, and thus they share basic precepts. All believe in seeking identification with the ultimate-which may be thought of as an internal essence, spirit, or mind. This includes renouncing the finite in order to gain recognition of the infinite, and renouncing ego's claims (individuality) to conclusiveness. All believe in karma, or the law of cause and effect. Coupled with this is a belief in the doctrine of reincarnation, and consequently the goal for all is to gain release from the rounds of rebirths. The amount of karma an individual accrues over numerous lifetimes determines the situation into which he or she will enter in the next lifetime. Most also believe that all life is integrated and all beings are dependent upon one another. Thus, a sense of nonviolence or noninjury is prevalent in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Since all life is related, no life should be harmed or injured.
- It goes on to say that those religions vary greatly other than that. Some don't believe in gods and instead believe that it's up to the individual to end the cycle of rebirths, while others believe in one god, or many gods that can help. And in Hinduism especially there seems to be this idea that each individual must find their own way.
